Droga (2009)
The prototype 2p fortune teller first appeared in "Droga", commissioned by 30 Bird as part of "Chodzenie 09", a series of performative events in Southend's 2009 Polish Arts Festival. Droga was led by Ania Bas, with collaborating artists Laura Trevail and John Borley. While creating the walk - in which participants carried sand through Southend to its man-made beach - the artists stopped at the 3 Shells for tea, and created the first generative shared fortunes on the inexpensive Argos penny-pusher machine that told fortunes during the event, and is still telling fortunes today.
